A 19-year-old man has been arrested by Ashoknagar police in Bengaluru for allegedly filming and uploading inappropriate videos and photos of women without their consent. The accused, identified as Husein, operated an Instagram page under the name "Dilbar Jaani," where he posted content targeting women captured at popular nightlife locations such as MG Road and Brigade Road.
According to police sources, Husein filmed women during nighttime hours in public spaces, often without their knowledge or permission. The visuals were uploaded with suggestive captions, aiming to exploit the city’s nightlife scene for social media traction. Reports suggest that he posted between 15 to 20 such videos on the platform.
The Ashoknagar police took suo motu cognizance of the content after it began circulating widely online, raising concerns about privacy violations and online harassment. Following an investigation, officers tracked down the individual behind the account and took him into custody.
Authorities have since blocked the Instagram account and are reviewing all the content that was shared. They confirmed that the material was not only unauthorized but also sexually suggestive, raising serious concerns under cybercrime and obscenity laws. Police are urging citizens, especially social media users, to report such accounts and refrain from violating others' privacy in the name of content creation or follower engagement.
