Mumbai Police have apprehended a man from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, for allegedly issuing a death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, invoking the name of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, had demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore to spare Khan's life.

The case was initially registered after the Mumbai Traffic Police received a threatening message on October 18. The message, sent to the police control room, warned that Khan's life was at risk unless the ransom was paid, referencing the recent murder of Khan’s close friend, Baba Siddique, as a grim example.

Following an investigation, the Mumbai Police, with assistance from local authorities in Jamshedpur, tracked the sender's location and made the arrest. The individual reportedly claimed affiliation with Lawrence Bishnoi's gang and warned that Khan's situation would worsen if the ransom demand was not met.

Interestingly, the same number sent an apology on October 21, claiming the earlier threat was sent by mistake. However, authorities continued their investigation, leading to the arrest. The accused will be brought to Mumbai for further questioning.

In light of these developments, Khan’s security has been tightened. Despite the threats, the actor returned to host Bigg Boss 18, though he admitted his reluctance to return to work following Siddique’s recent death.
