Days after the controversy surrounding the alleged manipulation of Jigra's box office numbers by actress Alia Bhatt, the film has now faced fresh allegations from Manipur-based actor Bijou Thaangjam. Bijou shared his experience of auditioning for the film and how his availability was taken for granted without any commitment. He revealed that after submitting two audition tapes over four months, he was informed in November 2023 that he would be shooting in December. However, despite keeping his schedule free, the production team never provided him with confirmed shoot dates.

“They booked me for the entire month of December, expecting me to be available at a moment’s notice, but no firm dates were ever given,” Bijou wrote. He also highlighted the difficulties of being an actor based in Imphal, stressing that he had made it clear from the outset that travel arrangements would need to be organized, which the production team seemingly ignored.

The actor further expressed his frustrations over losing other film opportunities due to the uncertainty around Jigra. Through his statement, Bijou hoped to shed light on the challenges actors from the North-East often face in the industry, particularly when dealing with large production houses.
