"Marriages are made in HELL and divorces are made in HEAVEN," Varma declared in a series of posts, questioning the longevity and value of contemporary marriages. "I wonder if today’s marriage in reality lasts as long as the number of days the parents perform the marriage," he added, casting doubt on the enduring nature of matrimonial bonds.

Varma went further to suggest that hiring a paid nurse is preferable to marriage for companionship in old age. "A paid nurse is a far better option than to marry for being looked after in old age. The nurse will do it as a paid job whereas a wife will make the old man feel eternally guilty," he stated. He also remarked, "Love is blind and marriage is an eye-opener."

The director continued with his candid thoughts, saying, "A marriage can work only if you have an extraordinary ability of falling in love again and again and again with the same person." Concluding his series of posts, Varma criticized the high cost of weddings, noting, "Considering the super high rate of divorces today, the biggest idiots are the poor parents who spend through their noses for the marriage."
