MD and CEO of NewsFirst, Ravikumar, honoured with KanakaRatna Award

Ravikumar, the Managing Director and CEO of NewsFirst, was honored with the prestigious KanakaRatna award at the Kanakaguru Peeta Halamruta Samskriti Vaibhava event. The award recognized his contributions to media and his efforts to promote cultural and spiritual awareness.

Upon receiving the award, Ravikumar expressed his deep appreciation for the devotional kirtans of Purandaradasa and Kanakadasa, highlighting their profound impact on society. He emphasized the importance of preserving the essence of these kirtans for future generations, as they contain valuable teachings on leading a virtuous life. Ravikumar urged the public to recognize and share the wisdom embedded in these songs, stressing that they offer invaluable guidance on living ethically and acquiring knowledge.

He further advocated for the inclusion of Kanakadasa’s kirtans in cultural education, calling them "hidden treasures" that must be passed down. Ravikumar’s remarks underscored the importance of strengthening moral values (samskaras) and enhancing education to build a better society.
