Can you imagine checking into a hotel having your luggage carried by a dog—this is the unique experience offered at a homestay in Lijiang, Yunnan province, China. A husky named Hakimi has taken on the role of a hotel assistant, pulling guests’ trolleys and becoming a social media sensation in the process.

According to the South China Morning Post, Hakimi’s viral fame has significantly boosted the homestay’s business, generating over 200,000 yuan (approximately Rs 23.49 lakh) in just three days. The dog’s owner, Xu, revealed that this began as a fun experiment. When Hakimi first arrived at their home, its boundless energy gave Xu the idea of letting it try pulling a trolley. To his surprise, the husky quickly adapted to the task without any formal training.
Initially, Hakimi would sometimes overturn trolleys or bump into people, but over time, its skills improved through practice. Xu noted that Hakimi also causes less mischief at home, likely because it expends energy outdoors.
Now, the friendly husky helps transport guests' luggage along a 200-meter route from the South Gate of Lijiang Old Town to the homestay. This charming and unusual service has captivated tourists, making Hakimi a star and adding an extra attraction to the already picturesque location.
