The 19 kilometer elevated line stretches from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road to Bommasandra, encompassing 16 stations. Notably, it includes key interchange points at Jayadeva Hospital and Central Silk Board, facilitating seamless transfers to the Pink and Blue Lines, respectively. This strategic alignment is expected to significantly benefit commuters traveling to and from Electronic City and other major tech hubs.

Despite the initial 20-minute headway, officials anticipate that the Yellow Line will alleviate traffic congestion by potentially removing up to 2,000 vehicles per hour from Hosur Road. This reduction is projected to improve travel times and decrease pollution levels in the area.

The line's inauguration has faced multiple delays, primarily due to the late arrival of rolling stock. However, with the recent delivery of train sets, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is optimistic about meeting the new deadline. The initial fleet will comprise five to six trains, with plans to increase frequency as more trains become operational.

Commuters and city planners alike view the Yellow Line's launch as a pivotal step towards enhancing Bengaluru's public transportation infrastructure and easing urban mobility challenges.
