Microsoft employee offers tips to make it big!

Nancy Agarwal, a software engineer with Microsoft relayed to LinkedIn about her journey that led her to take up the position in the company. She had apparently faced rejection on 3 different occasions. She however remained perseverant and achieved her goal. She claimed that 3 months of hard work went into getting the position. She offered tips to aspirants on how to make it big, like her. 

These included 

Learning new skills and becoming adept in dealing with latest technology that are relevant for the role that aspirant is looking for. 

Getting experience in solving coding problems through platforms such as LeetCode, HackerRank and GeeksforGeeks. 

Researching about the company, its work culture and the role one is aspiring for. This would help in tackling the interview.

Following up with recruiters after the recruitment managers and thank them for their efforts in talking to you. 

Identifying mentors who would offer the right guidance and support to support you reach your professional goals. 

She reiterated that although this flowchart looks simple, it requires discipline, dedication and determination to stick with it and materialise the plan. She was also open to sharing advice on LinkedIn and Instagram for those seeking to enter product-based companies.
