Middle class habits have remained with me: Rajkumar Rao

Rajkumar Rao did not have any godfathers in the industry or established connections to hand him a debut. He had to earn this through persistence and had to put in the hard yards to establish himself as a reliable actor who can also win over the audience. He has still not forgotten his humble background and the habits that characterize the consumption patterns of the middle class have remained with him even after having made the transition in class.  

He recently gave an interview with Mashablewherein he talked about this candidly. 

“Saara kaam khud karta hu (I do all my work myself),” he said in the interview. “Main ration order karta hu phone se, ya Patra karti hai ( I order my groceries from my phone, or Patralekha does it),” he added. 

He said that others in the industry experience a cultural shock at these habits. But he clarified that this is not something he does for creating a false persona but something that comes to him automatically. “Main acting mein aaya kyunki mujhe pasand tha. Yeh mera mera sapna hai… Attitude dunga waisa nahi tha (I entered the field of acting because this was my passion, this was my dream, It was not the allure of power that drew me to it),” he said.
