Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a high-level Central Security Council meeting tomorrow, drawing national attention. The meeting is expected to review the country’s internal security, border situation and ongoing defense agreements, especially in light of the recent nationwide mock drills being conducted as a preparedness measure.

The session will be attended by key ministers and officials, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. This meeting follows the government’s directive for mock drills across all classified districts, from major cities to rural areas, following an initial drill conducted near the Punjab border.
These mock drills are meant to simulate wartime scenarios, test emergency responses, and ensure readiness in case of any escalation. Given the current geopolitical climate, the government's rapid defense mobilization has triggered widespread speculation. Many believe a military operation against Pakistan could be on the horizon, although there has been no official confirmation.
The timing of PM Modi’s security meeting, in conjunction with the nationwide drills, suggests that the government is seriously assessing its strategic position and preparedness.
