Business leader and former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to discuss Bengaluru’s infrastructure and future development plans. During the meeting, Pai emphasized the need for rapid progress in key sectors, highlighting that Bengaluru, the country’s richest city, must evolve into a global hub.

Pai stressed the importance of improving pedestrian pathways, roads, and metro connectivity to enhance urban mobility. He noted that Bengaluru’s rapid growth requires stronger basic infrastructure and urged the government to expedite metro projects. In response, the Deputy CM assured that significant development would take place within the next seven to eight months.
Speaking on the city’s global significance, Pai stated that Bengaluru has attracted international attention, with people worldwide inquiring about its development. He expressed optimism that ongoing challenges would be addressed and pointed out that discussions on Bengaluru’s progress often receive both positive and critical responses. However, he asserted that such engagement is rarely seen in other Indian cities.
Pai also emphasized the importance of providing employment opportunities for Kannadigas, ensuring that the city’s prosperity benefits local residents. He reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to Bengaluru’s development, stating that he has raised concerns about corruption and governance under various administrations, urging leaders to focus on sustainable urban growth.
