As monsoon intensifies across Karnataka, the weather department has issued alerts for all districts, with Bengaluru under a yellow alert for today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted continued rainfall activity over the next six days, affecting the entire state.

The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi, along with the Malnad regions of Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru, have been placed under a red alert, indicating the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall and possible disruptions. These areas are expected to face strong winds, potential waterlogging, and localized flooding.
Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for districts including Hassan, Kodagu, Belagavi, Bidar, and Kalaburagi. These regions are forecasted to experience heavy to very heavy rainfalls over the coming days, and authorities have been asked to stay vigilant.
Bengaluru city and surrounding areas like Bengaluru Rural have been placed under a yellow alert, with showers expected throughout the day. The city is likely to experience sporadic rain, especially in low-lying areas, and citizens are urged to take necessary precautions.
The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) and local officials have been put on high alert to handle any emergency situations arising from the rains. Residents are advised to stay informed through official weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours.
