The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched simultaneous raids on Monday across nine locations in Bengaluru and Mysuru in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, involving Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to sources, the ED targeted the residences and offices of MUDA officials and local builders linked to the ongoing investigation. Notably, an upscale property in Bengaluru’s Dollar’s Colony, owned by a prominent builder, was among the sites inspected by ED officers.

This move comes amid growing scrutiny of the Chief Minister, following the Karnataka High Court's recent decision to uphold the governor's approval for Siddaramaiah’s prosecution in the MUDA case. The investigation centers around alleged misuse of authority in land allocation decisions taken during his term as CM. In an attempt to address potential conflicts of interest, Siddaramaiah’s wife recently returned 14 sites allotted by MUDA, though questions continue around the CM’s involvement.
Siddaramaiah has since appealed the high court’s decision, with the matter now before a two-judge bench. The ED’s intensified probe and Monday’s raids have heightened political tension in Karnataka, with both supporters and critics closely monitoring the investigation's trajectory. The outcome of Siddaramaiah’s appeal and any findings from these ED raids may significantly impact his administration amid a charged political climate.
