The city of Mumbai today mourned the loss of Vipin Reshammiya, father of renowned music director and actor Himesh Reshammiya, as his last rites were performed at Juhu. Vipin Reshammiya, who passed away on Wednesday night at Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital due to age-related health complications, was remembered by many from the film fraternity.

The funeral saw a gathering of notable figures including Iulia Vantur, Farah Khan, and Ramesh Taurani, who came to offer their condolences and pay their respects. Himesh Reshammiya, visibly emotional, was accompanied by his wife Sonia Kapoor during the solemn ceremony.

Vipin Reshammiya, a music composer in his own right, played a pivotal role in shaping his son’s career. He was not only Himesh’s father but also his mentor, guiding him through the early stages of his musical journey. It was Vipin who facilitated Himesh’s introduction to Salman Khan in the 1990s, marking the beginning of a prolific collaboration that included hits like “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya,” “Tere Naam,” and many more.
Vanita Thapar, a close family friend, confirmed Vipin’s passing, stating he succumbed to his ailments at 8:30 pm on September 18. His legacy in the music industry, particularly through his son’s achievements, will continue to resonate in Bollywood.
