In a tragic case from Mumbai’s Santacruz area, 32-year-old Chartered Accountant Raj Leela More died by suicide after allegedly being blackmailed and extorted for over ₹3 crore by two individuals. The accused, identified as Rahul Parwani and Saba Qureshi, reportedly threatened to leak private videos of More and extracted the massive sum over a span of 18 months.

According to police, the duo not only took his personal savings but also siphoned off funds from his company’s account into their private accounts. They allegedly forced More to hand over his luxury car as well. Raj, who had invested heavily in the stock market and held a high-paying job, was targeted specifically because of his financial status, police believe.

Before taking the extreme step by consuming poison at his home, Raj wrote a three-page suicide note, naming Parwani and Qureshi as the reason behind his decision. He also apologized to his mother and colleagues for letting them down, requesting that no action be taken against his co-workers who were unaware of the financial misdeeds.

The Vakola Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and extortion but are yet to arrest the accused. The incident serves as a grim reminder of how digital blackmail and emotional exploitation can devastate lives.
