It has been 3 days since Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star has been arrested over suspicion of an involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. This has however had negative repercussions on ‘Devil’ which was under production in Mysuru. Darshan was in fact in Mysuru at the time of his arrest.
The shooting for ‘Devil’ was underway in the Lalit Mahal Hotel in Mysuru. There was a lot of anticipation among fans for this project. The developments in this case will however result in likely losses for the investors.
The project has been temporarily halted as a result of Darshan’s arrest. The daily charges for renting the shooting location extends into lakhs of rupees. There are additional remuneration costs of other artists and technicians which are to be borne.

The shooting of ‘Devil’ was put on hold on June 11th. There are reports that the budget of the film was extremely high and ran into crores of rupees. The lack of availability of Darshan who plays the male lead in the film has however meant that the producers will have to hold their horses.
