The temple, adorned with vibrant lotus flower decorations, came alive in the early hours as special rituals and abhishekams commenced at 3:30 am. By 5 am, streams of devotees began climbing the hill’s steps, braving the early morning chill to catch a glimpse of the deity, beautifully decorated as Gaja Lakshmi and Naga Lakshmi.
Public darshan officially began at 6 am, with a heavy turnout continuing throughout the morning. Police deployed extensive security arrangements to ensure smooth movement and avoid untoward incidents. Barricades and designated queues helped manage the massive influx, while separate lines were maintained for ticket holders.
To maintain order, private vehicles were banned from accessing Chamundi Hill. Instead, the district administration arranged free shuttle buses from Lalit Mahal Grounds, ensuring a steady and safe flow of pilgrims.
This year’s Ashada celebrations have seen heightened enthusiasm and devotion, with Chamundi Hills once again reinforcing its spiritual significance in Karnataka’s religious landscape. The month of Ashada is considered highly auspicious for seeking the blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari, the presiding deity of the state.
