The Immavu industrial area would be the site wherein Triveni Engineering is planning to invest Rs 100 crore for building a multimodal defence facility as per a report in Mysuru Infra Hub. The land for this has been procured from the Karnataka Industrial Development Board. This project is envisioned to create 175 jobs. The project is set to commence shortly. As per current developments it would take off by January 2024.
The facility would be a site for assemblage as well as testing of defence equipment. A machining centre would also be installed in the location.
Triveni Engineering is already a trusted supplier to the Indian Coast Guard for turbo pumps and propulsion shafting. The centre in Mysuru would also focus on marine equipment in the initial stages. The products are varied in nature. Some are mechanical equipment. Some products are for platform support. Apart from this, propulsion systems, turbine generators and pumps are also manufactured by Triveni Engineering. The present facility in Mysuru would also be equipped with a fresh gear shaft.
Currently the unit of Triveni Engineering in Mysuru operates in the domain of power transmission. The unit is established in the Belagola industrial area.
