It is very common for people to approach God to fulfill their wishes. Similarly, unmarried men who have crossed 30 years of age have approached Male Mahadeshwara to find a bride.

Unmarried youth in Doddamulagudu village of Mysuru district take out ‘pada yatra’ to find a bride. In a bid a to find a bride to marry, the youth from this village are taking out ‘pada yatra’ to Male Mahadeshwara hill temple in Chamarajanagar district.

The youth are disappointed at the fact that they have been not getting suitable match to marry for the past 12 years. As a last resort to find a bride for them, they have knocked on the doors of the deity to bless them with a suitable bride.

The youth on pada yatra are also being accompanied by their parents.

The countdown to the Diwali fair has begun at Male Mahadeshwar hill temple. At the same time, hundreds of youths from Mandya are going on a pada yatra.

Young farmers who have reached marriageable age are not being seen as prospects by people to marry their daughter to them.

Last year too, unmarried people had taken out padayatra in a similar manner. Many who had gone on pada yatra have found and been blessed with brides. This time too, many unmarried youth are on pada yatra with same hopes and expectations of finding a match for them.
