The Karnataka government has selected Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout near Kengeri as the site for Bengaluru’s upcoming 250-metre sky deck, according to reports. This high-rise structure is set to become a landmark offering panoramic views of the city and is expected to boost tourism.

Earlier plans to construct the sky deck at Hemmigepura were dropped due to regulatory constraints on tall structures within a 20-kilometre radius of the Kempegowda International Airport. Challenges in land acquisition from private stakeholders also contributed to the shift in location.
The newly finalised site falls under the jurisdiction of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), which owns the land. A 25-acre parcel within the layout has been earmarked for the project, which also offers the potential for future metro rail connectivity—an important consideration in the planning process.
In parallel developments, the state has initiated measures to declutter city footpaths. Following a detailed survey that identified 27,665 street vendors, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will begin relocating these vendors to designated vending zones. Only registered vendors will be permitted to operate, using provided pushcarts, and must vacate public spaces after business hours.
To address Bengaluru's chronic traffic woes, authorities are also exploring the integration of service roads with main roads in metro construction zones. An action plan is expected from the Bengaluru Traffic Police to implement this proposal effectively.
