In a significant development aimed at enhancing connectivity and passenger convenience, Namma Metro is set to introduce 16 interchange stations across the city, expanding beyond the existing Majestic interchange hub.

Currently, the Majestic interchange stands as the solitary interchange metro station, facilitating the transfer between the Purple and Green lines, with approximately 50,000 commuters utilizing its services daily.

The forthcoming interchange stations will be strategically positioned at key locations such as Jayadeva Junction on Bannerghatta Road, M.G. Road, K.R. Puram, and several others, linking multiple metro lines including Purple, Green, Yellow, Pink, and Blue.

Among these, the multi-level interchange Metro station at Jayadeva Junction is slated to become the largest in the city upon its scheduled opening later this year.

The Jayadeva interchange station is designed to accommodate the unique infrastructure of the Yellow Line, featuring a double-decker flyover facilitating seamless traffic flow from Ragigudda to Silk Board without encountering signals.

The expansion of interchange stations will not only streamline commuting within Bengaluru but also contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of the Namma Metro system, marking a significant milestone in the city’s transportation infrastructure.
