The organisation has conducted sessions featuring Ujjayi Breath, also known as the victory breath, along with meditation techniques designed to calm the mind and reduce stress. These programmes have been offered to Ukrainian soldiers, many of whom struggle with the invisible wounds of war such as fear, grief, and post-traumatic stress. Participants have reported a sense of stability, inner calm, and renewed resilience after undergoing the sessions.

Relief for Ukraine soldiers

Accounts from the battlefield illustrate the significance of these methods. Soldiers describe using breathing techniques during intense combat situations to overcome paralysis caused by fear and to stay focused under constant threat. Some credit the practices with saving lives, both their own and those of fellow soldiers, by enabling them to act decisively in moments of crisis.

The success of the initiative has been acknowledged at high levels within Ukraine’s armed forces. Military leadership has formally recognised the contribution of the Art of Living Foundation and honoured its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, for offering tools that have helped soldiers cope with trauma and regain hope. Officials have praised the practices as an important support for morale, mission effectiveness, and survival.
