Over 200 passengers on board a Singapore-bound Air India flight faced disruption at Delhi airport late Wednesday after the aircraft’s air conditioning system reportedly malfunctioned. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, scheduled to depart around 11 pm, kept travelers seated inside for nearly two hours before crew members directed them back to the terminal building.

The incident involved flight AI2380, which was preparing for departure from Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to reports, the deplaning was carried out without a detailed announcement, leaving travelers waiting in discomfort. Several passengers resorted to fanning themselves with newspapers and magazines, with videos from inside the aircraft circulating widely on social media.
The airline has not yet released an official statement regarding the technical problem or whether the flight was later rescheduled.

Series of recent technical snags faced by Air India
This disruption adds to a series of recent technical snags faced by Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express. In May, passengers on a Delhi–Bhubaneswar flight reported mid-air issues with the cooling system. Earlier, in February, a Dubai-bound Air India Express service from Jaipur saw passengers stranded inside the aircraft for hours after the air conditioning allegedly failed, prompting complaints online.
The latest delay has again raised concerns over the reliability of onboard systems and the experience of travelers on international routes. Industry observers note that recurrent cabin environment issues could affect passenger confidence, especially on long-haul flights.
