The Department of Posts has opened applications for the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana, a scholarship initiative aimed at promoting philately among school students from Classes VI to IX. To be eligible, students must have secured a minimum of 60% marks during the 2024–25 academic year. Additionally, applicants must either hold a Philately Deposit Account or be active members of a Philately Club. An annual scholarship of ₹6,000 will be awarded to selected candidates who demonstrate genuine interest and aptitude in the hobby.

Scholarship Selection Process

The selection process includes a philatelic quiz at the initial level. Students who qualify in this round will move on to the next stage, which involves completing a philately-based project assigned by the Department of Posts.

The last date for submission or postal dispatch of applications for the Level-1 Philatelic Quiz is September 5, 2025. All schools across Karnataka have been urged to motivate eligible students to apply for this unique scholarship, which not only promotes a creative hobby but also supports cognitive development and relaxation through philately.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate hobbies like stamp collecting into the educational ecosystem, encouraging balanced growth in students.
