UPSC announces final results for 2025 Civil Services Exam; 958 candidates recommended for IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central services.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on March 6, 2026, released the final results for the prestigious 2025 Civil Services Examination (CSE), one of India’s toughest competitive exams. This year, Anuj Agnihotri created history by securing the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1), becoming the country’s top performer.

Final Selection and Vacancies
The UPSC has recommended a total of 958 candidates for appointments to IAS, IPS, IFS, and other Group A and Group B central services. This year, UPSC had announced a total of 1,087 vacancies to be filled through CSE 2025.
Examination Process
• Preliminary Examination (Prelims): Conducted on May 25, 2025
• Main Examination (Mains): Held from August 22 to August 31, 2025
• Personality Test (Interview): Began in January 2026 at UPSC headquarters, New Delhi, and concluded on February 27, 2026
The final results were released just one week after the conclusion of the interview process, demonstrating UPSC’s efficiency in evaluation and declaration.
