In a significant crackdown on cross-border narcotics smuggling, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru, dismantled two major drug trafficking networks operating between Delhi and Bengaluru. The coordinated operations led to the arrest of three foreign nationals and the seizure of a total of 9 kilograms of high-grade Methamphetamine.

The first operation, conducted at the Bangalore Bus Stand, resulted in the confiscation of 7 kilograms of Methamphetamine. The substance was transported by a female African national who had travelled from Delhi via Mumbai using a bus. To reduce suspicion, she was accompanied by a child. Swift follow-up action led to the arrest of another female African national who had allegedly arranged the transport of the drugs.
In a subsequent operation at Kempegowda International Airport, 2 kilograms of Methamphetamine were recovered from the luggage of a third foreign national. The drugs, sourced and packed in West Delhi, were transported on a domestic flight to Bengaluru. Upon investigation, it was found that the accused had initially entered India on a tourist or student visa, failed to leave upon visa expiry, and later assumed a false identity using a forged passport of a different nationality.
Authorities believe these arrests have dealt a serious blow to organized drug trafficking channels operating through public and air transport. Further investigation is currently underway to uncover additional links and operatives in these networks.
