The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025, earlier scheduled for June 15, has now been postponed to August 3, following directives from the Supreme Court. The decision was taken by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in light of logistical and security concerns.

According to NBEMS, the rescheduling allows additional time to enhance security arrangements and adequately inform candidates about their exam centers. The exam will now be conducted in a single shift from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, complying with the Supreme Court’s directive to avoid a two-shift system, which had faced widespread criticism from students and educators alike.

To ensure transparency and prevent any irregularities, NBEMS has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its technology partner. In a significant move, the number of exam centers across India has been doubled, aiming to reduce travel burdens for candidates and enhance oversight.

The postponement comes amid rising concerns over exam integrity and fairness, prompting calls for reform in the examination process. The NBEMS has assured stakeholders that all necessary measures are being implemented to uphold the sanctity of the exam.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NBEMS website for updates regarding center allotments and admit card release. With the new date confirmed, aspirants now have additional time to prepare under a revised and more secure framework.
