He assures them of action, setting up of special court

Neha was stabbed multiple times to death by Fayaz

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid a visit to the parents of Neha Hiremath, who was stabbed to death by her jilted lover Fayaz.

After meeting them, he said, “We will not do politics over her death. I pray for her peace. We will give protection to her parents if needed. We have handed over the matter to the CID. We will wait for the investigation. We will continue to extend our support to them. The chargesheet will be submitted to a special court.”

Her father Niranjan Hiremath said, “We are in a state of shock. The murder is beyond anyone’s comprehension. It has been condemned by all sections of the society. All of them are as hurt as we are. The CM spoke to us and has assured us of suitable action. We had sought for a special court. It has been granted.”

It might be recalled that Neha had been stabbed several times by the accused. The government was shamed into handing over the issue to the CID after BJP, the principal opposition party, alleged that she was murdered owing to ‘love jihad’ and the ruling party was silent over it as it feared Muslim votes.
