For years, rumors circulated that James Hewitt, Princess Diana’s former riding instructor, was the biological father of Prince Harry. These speculations stemmed from physical similarities, such as red hair and freckles. However, Richard Dalton, Princess Diana’s former hairdresser, has debunked these claims in his new memoir, It’s All About the Hair.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Dalton emphasized that the timeline made the rumor impossible. He explained that Prince Harry was born in 1984, while Diana didn’t meet Hewitt until 1986. The two began a relationship in 1989, long after Harry’s birth. “It’s not possible,” Dalton stated, adding that Diana was deeply upset by the speculation.

Dalton further clarified that Harry’s red hair is a Spencer family trait. He highlighted that both Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, and her sister, Sarah, had bright red hair, reinforcing that Harry inherited his distinctive look from his maternal lineage.

Hewitt and Prince Harry have addressed the rumors in the past, with Harry even suing an outlet last year for allegedly using unlawful methods to investigate his personal life.

Dalton’s memoir offers fresh insight into Diana’s life and her relationships, further dispelling the long-standing speculation about Harry’s parentage.
