Just three days after his wedding, soldier Manoj Patil bid an emotional farewell to his bride and returned to duty amid growing tensions on the India-Pakistan border.
Manoj Patil, a native of Pachora in Jalgaon district, tied the knot with Yamini, daughter of Ramchandra Patil from Nachankhede, on May 5 in a grand celebration. But even as wedding festivities continued, disturbing news from the border cast a shadow over the household. An urgent call from the Indian Army summoned the soldier back to his post, signaling the need for immediate deployment.

With the fear of conflict looming large, the mood in the house shifted from joy to concern. Yet, despite her sorrow, Yamini displayed immense strength. She tearfully stood by her husband’s side, expressing pride in his duty. "Serving the country is more important," she said, as she accompanied him to the railway station.
On May 8, clad in wedding turmeric and with mehndi still on hands, Manoj Patil left to rejoin his unit. Emotions ran high as family members and villagers gathered to send him off. The scene at the railway station turned heart-wrenching, with tears streaming down faces of loved ones witnessing the couple’s bittersweet parting.
As Manoj departed, his sacrifice stood as a stark reminder of the selfless service of India’s soldiers—and the strength of the families who support them.
