NIA to attach K A Masood’s house if he doesn’t surrender

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has posted a court notice at K A Masood’s residence giving him time until August 18th to surrender or face the consequences or risk having the property taken over by the government. They visited his house at the Nekkiladi village in the Puttur Taluk of the Dakshina Kannada district. K A Masood is one of the accused in the murder of Praveen Nettaru, a BJP Yuva Morcha leader who was killed in full public view, on July 26th 2022 in Bellare, Dakshina Kannada. 

K A Masood is among the 8 absconding including Abdul Nasir, Abdul Rehman from Kodagu, Naushad from Belthangadi, Tufail, Mohammad Mustafa, Umar Farooq and Bakr Siddiqui. Earlier the authorities had announced rewards ranging from 2 lakh to 5 lakh for anyone assisting the government to apprehend them by providing useful information. Earlier the deadline for surrendering was set at 30th June. The announcements were made publicly and the notice was pasted on the walls of the Nekkiladi bus stop as well. 

Earlier raids were conducted in many of the absconding murder case accused’s houses and electronic gadgets and documents were seized in the process. Masood was a state leader of the currently outlawed PFI (Popular Front of India)
