In a significant drug seizure, Chikkajala police in coordination with the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a 25-year-old Nigerian woman in Bengaluru and confiscated over 5.3 kilograms of MDMA crystals valued at approximately ₹10 crore. The arrest was made on June 10 following a tip-off about a foreign national attempting to smuggle narcotics in the Chikkajala area.

The suspect, identified as Princess, had arrived in Bengaluru from Delhi by bus earlier that day. Along with the MDMA stash, police recovered an iPhone and a bag containing new churidars. Initial investigations revealed that she had entered India on a business visa in 2021 and later acquired a student visa citing plans to study in Hyderabad. However, authorities found no record of her enrollment in any academic institution.
According to police, Princess, whose father is reportedly a civil servant in Nigeria, had overstayed her visa and had become involved in drug trafficking. She claimed she was merely transporting the contraband on instructions from a Nigerian associate, but officials remain skeptical of her account and are pursuing leads to identify the broader network.
Coinciding with these efforts, Bengaluru police have launched an anti-drug campaign ahead of International Day Against Drug Abuse on June 26, with awareness drives, educational events, and recovery-focused workshops across the city.
