Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stated that while war with Pakistan is not necessary, the Indian government must take unavoidable and firm actions following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Speaking on the matter, he emphasized that Pahalgam is a religious and tourist destination, and proper security measures should have been in place. He criticized the central government, calling the incident a result of both intelligence and security failure, similar to the 2019 Pulwama attack.

Siddaramaiah expressed sorrow that no action can now bring back the 26 innocent lives lost. He stressed the need for strong and effective security measures, rather than advocating for war. “We are not in favour of war. We want peace and people should feel safe,” he said. The Chief Minister urged the central government to take responsibility and implement stronger security policies to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Regarding the issue of deporting Pakistanis from Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said the state government will follow the instructions given by the Centre and extend full cooperation in implementing central decisions.
