Produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, "Kalki 2898 AD" was primarily shot in Telugu, with some scenes reshot in Hindi to cater to a broader audience. Initially, Prabhas was reported to have charged a whopping Rs 150 crore for the film. However, in a surprising turn of events, he agreed to take a significant pay cut, reducing his fee to Rs 80 crore, in consideration of the movie's substantial Rs 600 crore (US$72 million) production budget. This makes "Kalki 2898 AD" one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Deepika Padukone alongside Prabhas, with legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles.

"Kalki 2898 AD" is a sci-fi infused retelling of the Hindu myth of Kalki and the Kali Yuga, the end of the current world age. The narrative revolves around Kalki, a modern-day avatar of Vishnu, who descends to earth to protect the world from evil forces.

Following the success of "Salaar," Prabhas' latest venture, "Kalki 2898 AD," is set for a simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. This multi-language release strategy is sure to captivate audiences across India and beyond.

Initial reviews of "Kalki 2898 AD" are already pouring in through early screenings praising the powerful performances by the cast and the palpable chemistry between Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The film's trailer, released on June 21st, has garnered widespread acclaim. Celebrated director Rajamouli took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to commend the trailer, stating, "Power-packed trailer it is. It sets the right mood and tone to watch the film FDFS." He further praised the cast, saying, "Amitabh ji, Darling (Prabhas), and Deepika’s characters seem to have a lot of depth and are truly intriguing. I am still stuck on Kamal Sir’s look and how he amazes as always. Nagi (Nag Ashwin) can’t wait to immerse into your world on the 27th!"
