Google has introduced a new feature in its AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) that enables users to craft images directly from text prompts.

Search Generative Experience (SGE) is accessible to users who choose to opt in through Google Chrome. To use this feature, users can access Google SGE via Search Labs and sign up using their personal Google account.

This means that users can now generate images based on their textual input. Moreover, Google has extended the functionality of SGE to allow users to draft and customize their written content by adjusting the length or style.

According to a blog post by Google on October 12, the company expressed its ongoing commitment to integrating generative AI capabilities into the Search experience. This includes facilitating tasks such as visualizing concepts through image creation and assisting with written drafts by providing a starting point.

To illustrate, if a user searches for something like “draw a picture of a capybara wearing a chef’s hat and cooking breakfast,” SGE will present up to four image options in the search results. By selecting one of these images, users can explore how the generative AI has elaborated on their original query with descriptive details.

Google clarified that this image generation feature is currently limited to English users in the US who have opted into the SGE experiment and are 18 years or older.
