In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, an offensive message targeting Kannada-speaking people was displayed on the LED board of GS Suites Hotel near Nexus Mall, Koramangala. The board allegedly carried a derogatory phrase "Kannadiga M***," sparking widespread anger and public outrage across Karnataka.
The hotel, owned by Naushad who is currently based in Kerala, has come under scrutiny after the display went viral on social media. Upon noticing the viral message, alert Madivala police officers immediately reached the location, removed the LED board, and took the hotel manager into custody for questioning.
Inspector Mohammad of Madivala police station led the inspection and confirmed that the hotel falls under their jurisdiction. The authorities are currently investigating whether the board was deliberately programmed with the derogatory message or if it was a result of hacking, as claimed by the hotel’s owner.
The hotel management, including Naushad, has denied any involvement, suggesting that the LED board was hacked. However, police have found the claim unconvincing and are continuing with a formal inquiry. One hotel staff member has been detained for further investigation.
Kannada organizations, including Karave (Karnataka Rakshana Vedike), have expressed strong condemnation of the incident. Leader Praveen Shetty voiced anger over what he described as an insult to over 70 million Kannadigas, calling for strict action against those responsible.
The Madivala police are preparing to file an official case and continue to interrogate hotel staff as part of the investigation.
