Namrata, who stepped down as CEO of Omega Hospitals six months ago, reportedly contacted the supplier, Vansh Dhakkar, through WhatsApp and transferred the payment online. The drugs were delivered by Balakrishna, an associate of Dhakkar, who was apprehended at the time of the handover in Rayadurgam.
According to senior police officer Venkanna, law enforcement had been monitoring the transaction and intercepted the deal at the time of delivery. The police seized 53 grams of cocaine, Rs 10,000 in cash, and two mobile phones during the operation.
Following their arrest, both Namrata and Balakrishna were booked under relevant narcotics related laws and sent to judicial custody. During questioning, Namrata allegedly confessed to having spent around Rs 70 lakh on drugs over time.
