India launched Operation Sindhoor in the early hours of Wednesday, May 7, targeting nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The name, drawn from the sacred vermilion worn by married Hindu women, carried a deliberate message , a symbolic strike in honor of the widows left behind by the brutal April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were executed, mostly in front of their wives.

That attack wasn’t just a massacre, it was psychological warfare. The terrorists singled out men, executed them, and spared the women with a chilling command: “Go, tell Modi.” Now, India has answered with blood and fire.
Widows of the slain have hailed the operation as just retribution. “This is a befitting reply after the way those terrorists erased the vermilion of our daughters,” said Pragati Jagdale, wife of Santosh Jagdale. “Modi ji has shown Pakistan that we won’t sit quietly,” she added.
Others echoed her rage and resolve. “This is the beginning of revenge,” said Ashanya Dwivedi. “He won’t stop till he wipes them out.” Sangita Ganbote added, “By naming it Operation Sindoor, they’ve respected our pain.”
From newlywed Himanshi Narwal to grieving mothers like Pallavi Rao and Jaya Mishra, each woman’s loss is now carved into India’s strike, ‘Red sindhoor turned into red vengeance.’
