In a powerful retaliatory move to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindhoor, a series of precise cross-border strikes early Wednesday targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The offensive focused on facilities run by proscribed terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Top intelligence sources revealed that the most lethal strikes hit Bahawalpur and Muridke, long-standing terror hubs. In Muridke, the target was Masjid wa Markaz Taiba , the ideological headquarters of LeT. Both locations reportedly saw 25-30 terrorists eliminated. Overall, between 80-90 terrorists are believed to have been neutralised in the operation.
Indian officials confirmed that only terror infrastructure was hit, not Pakistani military assets. Pakistan, however, condemned the strikes as a “Blatant act of war,” claiming 26 civilian deaths and 46 injuries.
Among the other key targets were JeM and LeT facilities in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Sialkot, and Barnala, with some allegedly supported by Pakistan’s ISI, SSG, and Army units.
Following the strikes, Pakistan launched intense shelling along the Line of Control and International Border, killing three Indian civilians. Indian forces responded with matching fire, with hostilities still ongoing.
