Emerging intelligence reveals that Turkey played a significant and covert role in supporting Pakistan during the recent four-day conflict with India, known as Operation Sindoor. Not only did Turkey supply over 350 drones to Pakistan, but it also deployed military personnel to Islamabad to assist in executing drone attacks against Indian targets.

Sources indicate that two Turkish military operatives were killed during the operation, further confirming Turkey’s direct involvement. Turkish advisors reportedly worked alongside Pakistani Army officials, coordinating aerial assaults on Indian military infrastructure, particularly using advanced unmanned systems.

Pakistan deployed a combination of Bayraktar TB2, YIHA, and potentially Turkish-origin Songar drones for reconnaissance, target designation, and kamikaze-style strikes. The strikes focused on threatening Indian forward posts and disrupting supply convoys along the northern and western borders. Between May 7 and 8, approximately 300 to 400 drones were launched by Pakistan in a coordinated offensive.

Preliminary forensic assessments of downed drones have traced several components to Turkish defence manufacturers, reinforcing suspicions of strategic Turkish involvement. Indian forces successfully neutralized many of the intruding drones using both kinetic and electronic countermeasures.

The scale and sophistication of this collaboration underscore Turkey’s deepening military partnership with Pakistan—a development viewed with increasing concern in New Delhi. The incident marks a new chapter in regional defence alignments, with implications for South Asia’s security dynamics.
