The mystery behind the now-iconic Operation Sindoor logo has finally been unraveled. Contrary to speculation, the powerful symbol was not crafted by a marketing agency or professional designers, but by two Indian Army personnel—Lieutenant Colonel Harsha Gupta and Havaldar Surinder Singh.

The logo, which features a red-coloured ‘O’ in the word Sindoor, was unveiled in the early hours of May 7 by the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Strategic Communication. The red in the 'O' pays tribute to the lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack, symbolizing sacrifice and justice.
Following its release on social media at 1:51 a.m., the logo stirred intense curiosity across borders. Even Pakistan was reported to have scoured Google in search of its meaning. However, by the time the symbolism was decoded, Operation Sindoor had already sent shockwaves through the region in its aftermath to the Pahalgam massacre.
Designed as a tribute and a statement, the logo became emblematic of the swift and decisive action taken by Indian forces. It was not just a symbol, but a message—one that resonated globally and struck deeply in Pakistan.
The Indian Army, concluding the mission with a powerful tweet featuring the logo and the words “Jai Hind,” reinforced that justice had been delivered—both on the ground and in spirit.
