Over 30,000 KCET candidates have registered on the first day of the KCET option entry on August 6 where they chose their choice of college and course.

According to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), this is the highest number of option entries that took place in a single day. It is also for the first time that the authority has let the option entry to be made for courses, including medical and engineering, simultaneously, on a priority basis.

Of the five lakh option entries, three lakh entries were related to engineering courses, 1.25 lakh entries were related to medical courses, and 75,000 entries were related to agriculture, veterinary sciences and other courses.

The option entry process began at 7 am on August 6. After the initial hours of facing technical glitches in making entries by candidates, the candidates were able to make choices after the glitches were fixed in a couple of hours.

The option entry process will go on till August 9. The mock seat allotment will be announced on August 10. Following the declaration of the mock results, candidates can change their choice of option from August 11 to 14. On August 16, the first round of seat allotment will be completed and the results of allotment of seats will be declared by 6pm on the same day.
