Over 50 students staged a protest in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, accusing a private educational institute of running a fraudulent Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. The students, enrolled nearly a year ago in a two-year, four-semester course, allege that they have not been allowed to write a single semester exam despite paying ₹35,000 per semester in fees.

The protestors claim the institute consistently misled them about its affiliation and examination schedules. Hall tickets were never issued, and accurate information regarding the course’s status was allegedly withheld. Many of the affected students are married women hoping to obtain teaching credentials to improve their employment prospects.
Students discovered only recently that the institute is not affiliated with Bangalore University, contrary to the claims made at the time of admission. The institute allegedly promised that the course was being conducted in partnership with ten BU-affiliated colleges under a management quota. However, it has now emerged that only one such college is linked to the programme, and it is reportedly operated by the same group running the institute—without any formal BU recognition.
Some students had even quit jobs to pursue the course. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter following the protest.
