Indian intelligence agencies have unearthed concrete evidence linking Pakistan to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Digital footprints of the attackers have reportedly been traced to safehouses in Muzaffarabad and Karachi, suggesting coordination through remote control rooms similar to those used during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The assault, which took place at Baisaran Valley in the Anantnag district, left at least 26 people dead, mostly tourists. Investigations indicate that the attack was carried out by members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), operating under direct support from the Pakistani Army and intelligence agency ISI. The suspected assailants—Adil Hussain Thoker, Hashim Musa alias Suleiman, and Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai—are currently absconding, with police announcing a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to their capture.

Officials confirm the attack was part of a broader, state-backed infiltration strategy involving highly trained LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammad operatives, many of whom entered India through the Line of Control and International Border in recent months. Intelligence estimates suggest around 60 foreign terrorists are active in the Kashmir Valley.

In a stern response, India has initiated a series of diplomatic actions including suspending the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals, expelling military attachés, and halting the Indus Water Treaty. Additionally, all Pakistani visas will be revoked effective April 27.

Political unity has emerged, with leaders across parties endorsing decisive action against terrorism.
