A tragic terrorist attack in the scenic Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, often dubbed "Mini Switzerland," claimed the life of Intelligence Bureau officer Manish Ranjan while he was on vacation with his family. The Bihar-origin officer, posted in Hyderabad, was fatally shot in front of his wife and son during a sudden assault by militants on tourists.

The attack turned a serene holiday spot into a site of horror as terrorists opened fire indiscriminately, leaving several families devastated. Eyewitnesses recounted the chilling moment when Ranjan was gunned down, his family helplessly watching the scene unfold in terror.

Manish Ranjan had travelled to the valley seeking a brief escape from work pressures, only to fall victim to this senseless violence. His wife and child, though physically unharmed, are reported to be deeply traumatized by the incident.

Political leaders across states have condemned the attack. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed profound grief and called for stringent action against those responsible. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged the Centre to ensure such incidents do not recur.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan also denounced the brutal act, expressing solidarity with the victims’ families.

Security forces have intensified operations in the region, as the nation mourns yet another loss in its fight against terrorism.
