Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has expressed his displeasure over the song 'Akhiyaan De Kol' from Kriti Sanon's upcoming Netflix film Do Patti, calling it a "sordid ripoff" of a classic folk tune by the legendary singer Reshma.
In a post on X, Siddiqui voiced his anger, saying, "Imitation can be flattering, but not when it involves tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind." He emphasized that Reshma’s music should be treated with dignity rather than being rehashed into what he termed "another sordid ripoff."

The song, originally titled "Ankhiyan Nu Rehen De Ankhiyan De Kol Kol," was a soulful composition by Khan Muhammad and Sehrai Gurdas Puri, immortalized by Reshma’s voice. It was also used in the 1973 Bollywood film Bobby, sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Despite several reinterpretations, Siddiqui’s criticism points to the latest recreation by music composer Tanishk Bagchi for Do Patti, featuring vocals by Shilpa Rao and lyrics by Kausar Munir.
Do Patti, marking Kriti Sanon’s debut as a producer, stars Kajol and Tanvi Azmi alongside Sanon. It is set to premiere on Netflix on October 25.
