  • Global criticism followed Pakistan’s dramatic media move

In response to India’s repeated claims about terrorist bases operating in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Pakistan has orchestrated a media spectacle by bringing national media outlets to the region. The move, led by Pakistan’s Information and Technology Minister Attaullah Tarar, appears to be a strategic attempt to counter India's allegations and reshape the narrative.

India has long maintained that PoK shelters multiple terrorist camps. To deny these claims, Pakistan used the media visit as a platform to claim there are no such bases and that India is making baseless accusations. However, this effort is being seen as a propaganda tactic not just by India, but also by several countries across the world who have criticized Pakistan’s actions.

In addition to organizing the media visit, Minister Tarar made provocative remarks asserting Pakistan’s military strength. He emphasized that Pakistan is a nuclear-armed state and conducts regular missile tests to maintain and strengthen its defense capabilities. While claiming that Pakistan believes in peace, he also stressed the country's right to defend itself.

This orchestrated effort is being viewed as a dramatic attempt by Pakistan to present itself in a positive light internationally while dismissing India's security concerns.
