Gangammanagudi police in Bengaluru brought to light a passport fraud
A recent discovery by the Gangammanagudi police in Bengaluru brought to light a passport fraud, resulting in the arrest of a man purportedly facilitating passports for illegal immigrants through questionable methods.
Acting on a tip-off, the authorities conducted a raid at Srikrishna Computers on Abbigere main road, leading to the apprehension of the proprietor, Krishnamurthy, who faces multiple charges under the Passports Act, 1967, as well as forgery allegations.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect aided undocumented migrants in obtaining passports by fabricating rental agreements, subsequently utilizing these false documents to acquire their PAN and Aadhaar cards before initiating the passport application process.
Allegedly, the accused demanded a substantial fee from his clients and reportedly assisted numerous illegal immigrants in securing passports through the use of fraudulent paperwork. The police have detained the suspect for additional questioning and inquiries.
Bengaluru south division police had previously exposed a similar operation, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, one of whom was a software engineer. These individuals were implicated in the procurement of passports for Sri Lankan nationals and individuals associated with criminal activities in November of the preceding year.
