Pavitra has been struggling with the food provided in prison. Despite not being used to the bland, unsalted, and mildly spiced meals, she reluctantly eats what is offered. The daily menu consists of mudde, rice, chapati, vegetable sambar, and buttermilk for lunch, and upma or rice bath for breakfast.
Sleeping on a mat has proven to be another significant challenge for Pavitra. The discomfort, combined with incessant mosquito bites, has made restful sleep almost impossible. Although she tries to go to bed early, she often wakes up repeatedly throughout the night, adding to her restlessness.
In addition to these physical discomforts, Pavitra has also withdrawn socially. Unlike many prisoners who find solace in camaraderie, she has chosen to surrender to silence, isolating herself from her fellow inmates.
Life in prison has turned into a living nightmare for Pavitra Gowda, a stark contrast to the comfort and ease she once enjoyed. As she endures these hardships, the struggle to adapt continues to weigh heavily on her.
