Powerstar, Janasena chief and Andhra Pradesh DCM Pawan Kalyan, who oversees Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Environment, Forests, and Science and Technology in the Andhra Pradesh government, visited Bengaluru today. During his visit, Kalyan engaged in discussions with Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khadre regarding forest and environmental issues affecting both Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

In a poignant moment, Kalyan paid homage to the legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar during a press conference. He reflected on Dr. Rajkumar’s portrayal of a forest protector in the iconic film “Gandhadagudi,” emphasizing the stark contrast between past and present attitudes towards environmental conservation. Kalyan lamented the shift from the era when cinematic heroes championed forest protection to a current reality where the focus seems to have shifted away from such values.
“Those were the days when heroes protected forests, but now heroes are turning to destroying them,” Kalyan remarked. He expressed his regret over this cultural shift and pledged to contribute to real-world forest conservation efforts, aspiring to fulfill the role of a protector of forests. “I want to do what I can do to protect forests in real life and that what I could not do in movies” , he said.
